GSA student Mirjam Thomassen produced this small handmade book in an edition of just 3 as part of the exhibition Raw Meat: Cut the Chiffon held at Glasgow School of Art in November 2009. The book was installed within the GSA Library’s Artists’ Books Collection for the duration of the exhibition, with notices in the exhibition referring people back to the installation. The book features photographs of words sewn onto lime leaves still hanging from their trees, accompanied by a map of Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park. X’s mark the locations of the leaves on the map. Further photographs from a later date show just one of the leaves remaining on the tree, until finally a blank page represents the disappearance of all the leaves.
