Lost Tongues Rediscovered

In Lost Tongues Rediscovered, Glasgow-based curator Francis McKee was asked to select work to sit alongside that by Hague-based artists Harold de Bree, Machiel van Soest and Gerlach en Koop. The exhibition was held from 1 July – 9 September 2007 at Stroom den Haag.

McKee selected seven artists for whom the relationship between word and object is central. A key group of exhibits was several artists’ books by Ian Hamilton Finlay, all selected from GSA Library’s extensive collection by the artist. In total GSA Library possesses about 250 artists’ books by Finlay.
